Please join us on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Boston University’s Center for Computing & Data Sciences for the AI for Drug Discovery Open Innovation Forum.

This event is organized & co-sponsored by Boston University’s Hariri Institute, BU Bioengineering Technology & Entrepreneurship Center, MOC Alliance, Red Hat, IBM, the Cleveland Clinic and the AI Alliance and will serve as the kickoff event of a new AI for Drug Discovery working group within the AI Alliance. This working group aims to create a research community that harnesses the potential of foundation models to transform the field of drug discovery and accelerate scientific progress in the open. A key objective of the forum is to identify open development priorities for this working group.

This event is open to everyone and marks an exciting opportunity for an interdisciplinary pull of experts – including from clinical settings, academia, pharmaceutical industry, tech companies, open source communities, and policy institutions – to come together and share knowledge. The agenda will feature

  • engaging talks,
  • panels,
  • brainstorming sessions, and
  • hands-on activities,

fostering collaboration and innovation among participants.

We welcome members from policy institutions, private sector, academia, and civil society to register for the event, and contribute to the development of safe and responsible AI for drug discovery.

For more details and to RSVP, please check the registration page. We look forward to seeing you there!

AI Alliance x National AI Research Resource Pilot Deep Partnership Program

The AI Alliance is joining the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot Deep Partnership program to break down barriers to high-performance computing for researchers, educators, and innovators. In collaboration with Mass Open Cloud, Red Hat, and IBM Research, this initiative provides access to GPUs, CPUs, storage, enterprise cloud tools, and open-source AI models—including IBM’s Granite models, InstructLab, Docling, and science-focused foundation models developed with NASA and ESA. Eligible projects can apply by October 1, 2025, to receive resource credits for Core AI or AI for Science tracks, with supported work running through July 2026. More than just free infrastructure, this program empowers researchers and educators to build, adapt, and contribute open-source AI tools that advance both science and society.
